Day + 312 : Follow Up

My bloods count today on 9 Sept 09.Readings in square bracket [] are result from previous test.

Haemoglobin (HB) = 15.1[14.4] (Normal 13-18)
Platelet = 154[150] (Normal 150-450)
Total White Blood Count (WBC) = 7.0 [13.3] (Normal 4 - 11)

All are within the OK level. Dr Alan said the reading show the blood count are stable based on the last few readings.

Dr Alan said my vision is slightly blur due to the water retention in the eyes, this was due to the steroid drug which I am taking now. Steroid always caused water retention problem in the body. The steroid is needed to control the GVHD. This GVHD is a bonus to kill the lymphoma.

The GVHD ( Graft versus host disease) cause dry mouth issue and also dry skin. I started having this problem about three months ago. It will take at least another 6 months to settle down. The major issue is breathless now.

Day +313 : Wii - Home Video Game

I am fine today.

Jan 09, TA, HS, FM, CY, Stanley bought me an idea birthday present, Wii - a home video game. I just starting to play it recently.

Today, I am playing boxing with my son, and the winner ! My son, he can move faster than me.

Even it is just a video game, I am still struggling to cope with it physically.

Some extraction about WII from WIKIPEDIA

The Wii (ウィー?, pronounced /ˈwiː/, like the pronoun we) is a home video game console released by Nintendo. As a seventh-generation console, the Wii primarily competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3. Nintendo states that its console targets a broader demographic than that of both.[6] As of December 31, 2008 the Wii leads the generation over the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in worldwide sales.[1] .

Units shipped Worldwide: 52.62 million (as of June 30, 2009)[1] (details

Using the Wii is often seen as being more physically demanding than other game consoles.[147] Some Wii players have occasionally experienced a form of tennis elbow referred to as "Wiiitis."[148] A study published in the British Medical Journal states that Wii players use more energy than playing sedentary computer games. It is however indicated that while this energy increase may be beneficial to weight management, it is not an adequate replacement for regular exercise.[149] A case study published in the American Physical Therapy Association’s journal Physical Therapy focused on use of the Wii for rehabilitation of a teen with cerebral palsy. It is believed to be the first published research showing the physical therapy benefits resulting from use of the gaming system. Researchers say the gaming system complements traditional techniques.[150]

Day +306 : Dizzy

I am fine.
This morning , while learning Yuan Ji Qi Qong, I suddenly feel dizzy. I just take a break and quietly sit down. The situation did not improve, I was unconscious for a few minutes, luckily they observed it, and give me a hand. Chew Loeng, the person in charge for Yuan Ji in Wawasan offered to send me back.

I think the dizziness was due to low sugar level, as I don't take any drink prior the morning exercises. This is the second time I encountered such problem. First time, I phoned Ah Siew to brought me some Milo , it work pretty well.

Here is something I loved to read when I have bad day.

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the million
who won't survive the week.
If you have never experience the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people around the world.
If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.
If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet,
and spare change in a dish someplace,
you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare, especially in the United States.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not If you can hold someone's hand,
hug them or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can offer God's healing touch.
If you can read this, you are more blessed
than over two billion people in the world that cannot read anything at all.
You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.
