Day +177 : UK's sudden star Susan Boyle

I am fine today. Yee Hong, my classmate and 5S1 assitant monitor, visited me this morning. She wanted to visit me long time ago, but have concern passing the infections to me, she is the Nurse Manager at Sunway Medical , daily contact with patient. So she just have to postpone the visit until I have better resistance.

Come Back to Susan Boyle, I had view her performance 4 times. Currently it is the most popular YouTube video of her performance, had been view more than 40 million times. She announced that she is about to appear on Oprah Winfrey's talk show, and report of recording deals are already circulating.

Susan Boyle, the frumpy, unemployed 47 year old church lady from the tiny Scottish village of Blackburn, lives alone with her cat and grew up singing in the church choir. She decided to enter a talent contest to honour the memory of her dead mother who always encouraged her to pursue her singing talent. Mom was right, after wowing judges on the UK tv show " Britain's Got Talent" with her rendition of " I Dreamed a Dream", Susan Boyle became a sensation of historic proportions.

Today, I visited a blog by Soh Zan Long, my secondary school 's senior. The blog " acclaim Life " (为生命喝采). Sin Chew highlighted this blog.

早上，办理好激励讲座后，到食堂喝茶。听到两位女老师在讨论着。我依稀听到这么一句：“当孩子讲话的时候，要听听他们讲什么。”“看看他们怎么想。”很感动我的一句话。其实，我一直都明白，我们需要聆听孩子的心声。年代不一样了，做父母的应该仔细聆听孩子说的话、听听他们的心声，不要一味地责备孩子。孩子生在新的年代里，环境不一样了，想法也和父母不同了。父母亲其实需要改变自己来顺应环境的改变，接受新的知识、理论、环境。如果不稍微做改变，就好像我谈到刘德华、郭富城啊，学生会取笑我：“老师落伍了！跟不上潮流。”所以，父母亲需要适应世界潮流、环境改变。了解孩子，给他们机会表达自己的思想。不要为他们贴上标签，他们是坏孩子。听听他们的心声吧！教师也应该这样。不要把自己的价值观强加在学生的身上。我听说过一位烤蛇肉这么的看法：“这个孩子的父母都不在了，他今天能够来学校上学已经是很好的了，衣服放出来外面，劝告他一下咯，好好跟他谈啦，怎么还要搞到要开除他。。。。。。”真的是对啊！老师不了解学生的心声，他们的心事没有人知道，只有继续这样下去，最后被开除啦。。。。。。今天，一位家长就是这么怪校方开除他的孩子。。。。。今天，我就听到一个老师对我发牢骚：“看！这个学生，衣服就是不要塞进裤子里。。。。”其实，很想问：“你有听听他的心声吗？”其实，校长也试过责备一位学生。可是，后来那位学生透露出心声，校长也感动着，不再责备他，反而安慰他。那位学生，眼泪流得更多。。。。。校长叫我继续辅导他。我见了他，他从头说起，眼泪也一直流着。。。。。。是从来没有人关心他、安慰他、帮助他。可是，校长的关心、我的帮助，他深受感动、哭了。。。。。就是这样，他得救了。所以， 爸爸妈妈、老师们，听听你的孩子你的学生的话，看他们想说些什么。不要太快下定论：“他们是坏的。”你的爱心，可以拯救一个灵魂。

Day + 175 : Examination Time

Today, I am fine. I have the medical follow up this afternoon. Teck Ann will be my driver.

Xin Yi currently study Primary 2 at Ladang Harcroft , she was the librarian in Primary 1. Rightnow, she is a deputy monitor. She told me she like to be librarian more.

Ladang Harcroft was shifted from Perak to Puchong. IOI's boss Tan Sri Lee Shen Chin donated the land and build the school as well. We have to thanks him for giving our children a place to study, there is seroiusly shortage of chinese primary school at Puchong. Initially Xin Yi was given a place at Chin Wu , PJ, travelling time is about 45 minute. If the traffic is heavy, it will need > 1 hours

The mid term exam time is coming, school gave a list of exam topic, request parent to do revision with kid. During our time, we don't have such communication. Now, the school able to update more information to parents .

Day + 174 : ASW 2020 Sold out

I am fine.

ASW 2020 is opened for public today, the respond is too good. My queue is 260. The staff advise me to come back after lunch time. By then, I was advised the fund sold out. The quota is full. With the yearly return of 6% to 8%, ASW 2020 is selling like hot cake. Although this is unit trust, the capital value of RM1.00 remain unchanged. You buy RM1.00/unit and selling also RM1.00/ unit.

Day +172 : EPF

Today, I am fine.

Yesterday, I asked Boon Tiam drove me to EPF at Jalan Gasing at PJ to submit the form for medical withdrawal. The process is faster than I expected. Within half an hours we settled the application. The payment will be bank in directly into applicant 's account within 3 weeks times. We went for tea break at the famous Ipoh chicken rice at Jalan Gasing. We ordered steam kampug chicken, meal ball, oil rice ad grout beans. Usually Boon Tiam don't finish his portion, but this time I saw him clean the the whole plate. He said the food taste good and good customer service as well.

Last year, I did the same EPF application , but the bill was submitted later, that was during the bone marrow transplant. As I must avoid crowded area at least 3 months after the transplant to minimise the infections, Teck Ann help me submit the bill. EPF' staff is helpful.

I am fine, have better energy to do some houseworks, tidy up my old files.

Jin Hao have Mandarin spelling ( 五六七八九) last week, he only remember 九. The score was one correct. Compared to previous Bahasa spelling, the score was zero. He have improved.

Yesterday the bahasa spelling ( dayuk, demam, duduk), Jin Hao said he able to write 2 out 3. BTW, to him, as long as he able to write out the word, he think it is correct. Let see the results later.

Day + 170 : Buying ASW 2020

I am fine today.

My wife bought RM2000 of Amanh Saham Wawasan 2020 ( ASW 2020) many years ago, and the yearly dividend is better the fixed deposit interest. I went to Maybank Bdr Puteri, asked for ASM , was told the allocation for Non bumiputra sold out after 2 days launched. This indicate people still have more cash in hand. The next fund is ASW 2020 due to open on 27 April. If you have FD, you may want to consider switching to this fund.

Day + 167 : Happy birthday, Sean Loo !

I am fine today. This morning wake up much early 6: 20am, I went for Qi Gong at Taman Wawasan which I have stopped for three weeks as I am not feeling well. The cough is still not yet settled down, but I feel much better now.

Last Night, We celebrated Fong Ming's son, Sean Loo 9 years old's birthday. Hui Ling bought a Tiramisu cake , the taste is good, we eat the whole the cake

Day +166 : My Niece Eng Xin

Today, I am fine.

Yesterday, My eldest sister, Chew Kian have back to Singapore. She stayed few nights in my house. My sister took a week leave for this trip. She want to bring her daughter to visit me. My niece Eng Xin, 9 months , weigh 10 kg. My son Jin Hao, 5 years old, 13kg. You can imagine Eng Xin is a little jumbo. She can finished a bowl of porridge within few minutes. Jin Hao sure lose to her in term of eating speed.

My sister suppose visited us during CNY, but she postponed the trip. My daugther Xin Yi was very eagerly to meet her cousin, keep on asking me when Eng Xin will come. Eng Xin enjoy playing with Xin Yi.

Day +165 : Zoo Visit

I am fine today.

Jin Hao's school organised a trip to Sunway Mini Zoo on 16 April. Jin Hao and Teng Teng ( Fong Ming 's princess) took part in this trip. They are particular excited when school organised such trip. I asked Jin Hao, what he saw in the zoo ? Answer : Snake. He still learning how to decsribe things he see.

The school gave the Bahasa spelling (Cacing, Cicak, Cabut), the score is zero. He is not keen in study, he tends to miss the school homework. When asked to do homework, he say will do it tomorrow

Day +164 : Visit by Eng Sim

I am fine today. Yesterday evening, my U Mate Ooi Eng Sim drop by to visit me. I have not met him for few years. Currently he is working as contractor, own boss,mainly in building works. His was visiting a site at Bentong, and on his way back to Penang, he wanted to visit me. Thanks for his warm regard.

DAY + 162 : follow up

I am OK today, morning is bit tired may be due to the medicine I took last night.

the blood count on 14 April 09 :
Haemoglobin : 10.3 ( normal 13 to 18)
platelet: 170 ( normal 150 - 400)
Total WBC : 4.5 ( normal 4 to 11)

The blood count show platelet and total WBC is normal, the Haemoglobin is still low, Dr Alan said eat well and more will help to boost up this red blood cell. Dr Alan said if the blood count is normal, we can skip the bone marrow test on the 180 days.

Teck Ann drove me back after the follow up.

Day +159 : Happy Birthday Jin Hao

I am fine today.

Today is my son, Jin Hao birthday. He is 5 years old. We bought a cake for him to celebrate together with his classmate at Citrawarna. We asked him to choose the type of cake he like, he selected an ULTRAMAN logo on his cake. He know this logo thanks to TV cartoon. I know the moment he enjoy the most is blowing the candle and cutting the cake.

Day +158 : Visit

I am fine today, just the cough is still heavy. Hope it will get better in the next few days.

My eldest sister from Singapore is bringing her baby to visit me today. Look forward to see my niece. My sister got her first baby at the age of 40, so it is a precise gift. I strongly believe a family with children is better bond.

My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Cheng Yoong and Family on the demise of their beloved father.

Cheng Yoong's father condition is getting worst, doctor said no much they can do. It is sad to hear that, I hope Cheng Yoong can storm through this very difficult moment.

Day +154 : Still weak

I have not written any message in my blog for the whole last week. I am having a heavy cough, it make me weak and tired. My energy level is extremely low during morning times. Sometimes after breakfast, I will sleep from 10am to 1pm noon. The cough syrup always make me drowsy.

last week , Teck Ann accompanied me for the follow up. The lung is clear. The next follow up will be in two weeks times. Over the last 5 months, the follow up was on weekly basic.

My condition is improving, I feel better now.
